Sample Itinerary – 2 Weeks in Dakar

Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome

  • Meet-and-greet and cultural orientation.
  • Welcome drumming circle at sunset by the ocean.
  • Campfire by the beach.

Day 2 – Discover Dakar

  • City tour: African Renaissance Monument, IFAN Museum, and bustling Sandaga Market.
  • Evening: French language immersion games.

Day 3 – Island Adventure

  • Full-day excursion to Gorée Island – UNESCO World Heritage site.
  • Learn about history, art, and resilience.
  • Evening: Reflection session under the stars.

Day 4 – Music, Rhythm & Dance

  • African percussion workshop with local musicians.
  • Learn Sabar and contemporary West African dance.
  • Evening: Talent night.

Day 5 – Ocean & Sustainability

  • Visit Dakar Marine Institute – marine ecosystems and coastal conservation.
  • Afternoon: Beach cleanup and surfing or paddleboarding.
  • Evening: Movie night.

Day 6 – Art & Language

  • Visit to Village des Arts – meet painters and sculptors.
  • French language workshop focused on creative expression.
  • Evening: Senegalese cuisine tasting.

Day 7 – Cultural Immersion

  • Community project with local youth on environment or education.
  • Learn teamwork and empathy through service.
  • Evening: Camp social night.

Week 2 Highlights

Program Overview

Junior Camp: Ages 8–11
Senior Camp: Ages 12–15+

Session Periods:

Each session blends outdoor adventure, scientific exploration, and skill-building — offering students a balanced experience of discovery, fun, and friendship.

Morning Options

Campers can choose their morning focus, designed to suit a range of interests and experience levels:

Option A: Scuba & Marine Exploration

Three progressive packages — each one week long — can be taken individually or combined for an extended experience:

  1. Intro to Diving – Learn the fundamentals of scuba in a controlled, shallow-water setting.
  2. Open Water Certification – Earn your PADI Junior Open Water Certificate, guided by qualified instructors.
  3. Advanced Dive Experience – For certified divers, explore advanced sites and conservation dives.

All diving programs include Marine Biology workshops, with local case studies on coral reef restoration, marine ecosystems, and ocean sustainability.

Option B: Sports Excellence

Select two sports across two weeks (or focus on one for the full session):

  • Football (in partnership with elite coaching academies)
  • Tennis
  • Golf
  • Rowing and water-based training

These sessions encourage teamwork, discipline, and skill mastery under the guidance of professional coaches.

Afternoon Programs

Campers continue their adventure each afternoon through hands-on learning and exploration:

  1. Marine Science & Island Ecology
    Dive into the wonders of the ocean through projects on:
  • Coral reef and marine ecosystem health
  • Climate and ocean change
  • Marine mammals and conservation
  • Sustainability and island biodiversity
  1. Sports & Recreation
    For active students, afternoons feature golf, tennis, and water-based recreation to develop agility, endurance, and coordination — while enjoying the island’s stunning natural backdrop.

Excursions & Experiences

  • Power Boat Island Tour – Visit the Exuma islands and swim with the famous beach pigs.
  • Atlantis Adventure Tour – Behind-the-scenes experience with dolphins, turtles, and sea lions.
  • Baha Bay Waterpark Day – Thrills and relaxation at one of the Caribbean’s top waterparks.
  • High Ropes Challenge Course – Build confidence and teamwork through outdoor challenges.
  • Snorkelling Expeditions – Explore vibrant reefs and marine life.
  • Cultural Immersions – Visit historical landmarks, local markets, and the Pirates of Nassau experience.
